In August 2024, it was announced that Taeil would no longer be a member of NCT due to a then-unspecified sex crime. Earlier this year, he was sentenced to 3 and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated rape.

Since then, the idol has lost nearly all support, with the guilty plea leaving no question of his involvement in the crime. Still, it appears that some still feel some sort of love towards the idol even as he serves his sentence.

June 14 marked the idol’s 32nd birthday, an occasion usually marked with celebration, though Taeil’s last birthday event sparked controversy.

A screenshot of the video was posted on X, where it gained similar attention quickly. However, this attention was more focused on the former idol still receiving praise despite his own admission of guilt.
