BLACKPINK’s Jennie has once again set the internet ablaze with the release of her debut solo album Ruby and music video for “Like JENNIE.” But while the video’s couture, choreography, and direction have got everyone addicted, there’s one guest star who’s stealing the show on social media…

… a scene-stealing capybara! “Like JENNIE” opens up with the idol in her astronaut era, before shifting into high-energy dancing with a huge backup crew and Jennie’s classic high-fashion visuals. But, the final scene of the music video takes an unexpected turn as Jennie bursts into flames, only to reincarnate as the world’s largest rodent.

Jennie went on to give fans a glimpse of “Like JENNIE’s” guest star behind the scenes on Instagram. One video clip showed her sweetly offering the capybara a carrot, while another showed her posing beside her furry friend — and the capybara’s own scaly friend.

In an Instagram Story, Jennie humorously referred to the lizard on the capybara’s back as a relatable “emotional support” coworker.

“What in the moment is this… it’s her best friend that comes to work together for emotional support. We all got that friend we wanna bring everywhere we know 😌”

While Jennie also shared several stunning photos of herself in the Instagram post, fans were all focused on the animal star, with the post reaching more than 1.5 million likes in 12 hours.

The duo has been going viral with Korean netizens too, many of whom can’t believe how close Jennie and the capybara were in size.

International fans, meanwhile, were cracking up at the animal’s inclusion in the storyline — many jokingly worried that there’s a real chance their fandom name could be changed from “Jensetters” to “Capybaras.”

While “locals” new to the BLACKPINK soloists may have been confused by the choice to include a capybara in the music video, BLINKs know well that the animal has become one of Jennie’s signatures. The star has openly adored capybaras for years, revealing on Knowing Bros in 2020 that she loves them for their sociable nature.

This also isn’t the first time a capybara has been lucky enough to share the screen with Jennie. When she revealed her admiration to the music video director for BLACKPINK’s “Ice Cream” with Selena Gomez, the director decided to give them their own scene.
