Highlight’s “Lights Go On, Again” Tour Brings Unforgettable Moments to Singapore

Highlight, the sensational K-pop group, has captivated Singapore fans with their dynamic presence as part of their Asia Tour. Originally debuting as BEAST in 2009, the group rebranded to Highlight in 2017. The group consists of four members: Yoon Doojoon, Yang Yoseob, Lee Gikwang, and Son Dongwoon. Known for their engaging stage presence, exceptional vocals, and deep connection with their fans, called “Light”, Highlight remains a beloved act in the global music scene. This long-awaited event took place at Expo Hall 7 on September 8, captivating fans with a night of exhilarating performances and heartfelt interactions.

The concert kicked off with a vibrant VCR, igniting an explosion of screams from the audience. As blue, purple, and red lights enveloped the stage, the K-pop group and their dancers made their grand entrance, setting the tone for the evening. Highlight commenced their musical journey with “Switch On”, a fast-beat song accompanied by a striking red background.

Following the energetic opening, the group continued with “Privacy”, maintaining a high energy level. The atmosphere shifted slightly with “Paper Cut”, as they waved to fans, who eagerly reciprocated the enthusiasm.

“We finally reached Singapore! Which is the last station of the Asia tour, so happy to meet you! It’s been a while!” Highlight expressed their excitement to finally perform in Singapore, and members took turns greeting the fans and sharing how much they missed them. The crowd’s roaring response affirmed the mutual sentiment as they promised to deliver a memorable night filled with music and joy, urging the fans to keep the energy high.

The concert seamlessly transitioned into “Feel Your Love”, a lively song set against a colorful background with pink and white lights flickering, followed by “Give You My All” where a sea backdrop and blue lights created a serene yet spirited atmosphere, enhanced by a burst of white confetti. As they walked over to the extended stage for “Calling You” and “Don’t Be Sad”, Highlight interacted closely with the fans, singing these sweet and engaging songs.

Taking some time to talk to their fans, members reflected on their recent busy schedules, including solo concerts and personal activities. They shared amusing anecdotes and heartwarming moments, expressing their gratitude for the support from fans and fellow members. The conversation was lively and filled with camaraderie.

Highlight then performed “Body”, a lively song with smiley faces adorning the background, and gold confetti bursting out in sync with the beat. The stage lights dimmed for a brief VCR interlude before transitioning to “Bad Girl”, where the group emerged in white outfits amid green and pink lights. The concert continued with “Shock” and “Special” which had fans singing along passionately.

Before continuing with the show, each member shared a few words.

Yoseob shared “I have a personal YouTube channel. So, I bought a new camera for this show in Singapore, I don’t know how the editing will turn out, so I’m going to make sure to take down all the memory and show you as much as possible!”

Doojoon shared “We had Breakfast this morning, steady la! And I came to this concert hall right after!”

Gikwang shared “So the gym in our hotel is really good! Steady la! I exercised really hard. In gym, there were many things I could try, and I tried it all one by one!”

Dongwoon shared “Before the concert, the organiser prepared ba-kut-tea for me! Seriously, that was the top 3 best food I’ve had so far! It was really alamak!”

The group then resumed their performance with “Shadow”, “Good Luck” and “Breath”. Each song was met with enthusiastic cheers and synchronized light stick waves from the fans.

Highlight made a poignant reflection on their Asia tour as the members reminisced about their most memorable moments throughout the tour and expressed their gratitude towards the fans who had supported them throughout their journey.

They then performed “On Rainy Days”, “Ribbon” and “Fiction” with deep emotional resonance.

After a VCR, Highlight returned in new denim outfits for “Not the end”, an upbeat song that filled the air with confetti. The fans raised banners with heartfelt messages, and the group took a memorable photo with their beloved fans. The concert reached its climax with “In My Head” and “Don’t Leave”, as the group bid farewell with cheerful waves.

However, fans clamored for an encore, and Highlight returned in white tees to perform pieces like “Beautiful”, “V.I.U” and “How to Love”, leaving the audience on a high note before saying goodbye.
