It was recently made known that actress Kim Min Hee is pregnant with director Hong Sang Soo‘s baby. The couple have been together publicly since 2016, despite Hong Sang Soo’s status as still-married. He lost a divorce lawsuit with his wife, meaning that legally, he is still tied to her maritally. Kim Min Hee has since been shunned from the industry due to her affair.
Following the news of her pregnancy, her mother’s conversation with Hong’s wife back in 2016 was brought back to the spotlight. They had exchanged a few words through KakaoTalk back then.
- Hong’s wife: “Please help your daughter get back on the right path. I feel so tortured right now.”
- Kim’s mother: “Who do you think hurts more? The wife of a man who has cheated, or the mother of a daughter who has fallen in love with a married man?”
- Hong’s wife: “Seems like you don’t know how a wife who has had her husband stolen feels. Ask those around you who would have it harder.”
- Kim’s mother:”I’m crying on the inside.”
- Hong’s wife: “Your daughter is an adulterer who broke up a happy family.”
- Kim’s mother:”She is a child I have raised preciously. Don’t speak about her so easily.”
- Hong’s wife: “It’s not the time to talk about how preciously you have raised your daughter.”
- Kim’s mother:”You’re also someone who is raising a daughter.”
- Hong’s wife: “It’s not enough to apoplogize to me a few hundred times with how wrongly you’ve raised your daughter, such that she is causing so much pain to a family.”
- Kim’s mother:”Your husband will go back to you when he has a realization of sorts.”
