D-Nation Entertainment, the current agency representing Park Bom, issued a clarification statement on October 23 to address allegations made by the 2NE1 member against YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk.
According to the statement, all financial settlements connected to Park Bom's 2NE1 activities have already been completed, contradicting claims that she remains owed significant compensation.
The controversy erupted after Park Bom shared an image on her Instagram account that resembled an official complaint document. The post alleged that Yang Hyun-suk engaged in fraud and embezzlement by failing to pay her rightful earnings from various professional activities. She specifically claimed she did not receive proper compensation for music releases, concert performances, broadcasts, advertisements, events, and work related to songwriting and composition. The figure mentioned in the document, approximately 64,272 trillion won, or roughly $4.5 billion, drew widespread attention as it vastly exceeds South Korea's entire gross domestic product.
D-Nation clarified in its official statement that the complaint document uploaded to social media was never actually filed with authorities. The agency emphasized that the settlements for Park Bom's work with 2NE1 had been finalized prior to these allegations. The agency stated, "All settlements related to Park Bom's 2NE1 activities have already been completed, and there is no record that the complaint uploaded to social media was ever filed."
The statement also confirmed that Park Bom has suspended all professional activities since August, focusing instead on receiving medical treatment and undergoing recovery. D-Nation indicated that the agency is committed to supporting her health and wellness during this period.
Park Bom subsequently deleted her initial Instagram post but reposted it hours later with an additional caption stating, "Park Bom hates YG. Dear beloved citizens who use the internet, please look thoroughly into what YG did to Park Bom. Thank you." She also shared a separate post featuring her dog, further confusing observers about her intentions and mental state.
YG Entertainment has not released an official statement regarding the allegations, leaving the matter largely addressed through Park Bom's agency's response. The incident raised questions about Park Bom's well-being, particularly given her previous withdrawal from 2NE1 reunion activities. In her post, she exposed her personal phone number, prompting fans to express concern over her condition online.
