Some believe the “mistake” wasn’t a mistake.

On January 29, 2025 (KST), MBC aired the first half of its two-part “2024 MBC Gayo Daejejeon: Wannabe.” At the end of the show, a short trailer for part two played—a 50-second video highlighting the lineup of all the artists coming soon.

K-Pop fans immediately noticed that TXT was missing from the trailer:

Given MBC’s longstanding feud with HYBE, and how this is not the first time MBC did TXT dirty with a “Gayo Daejejeon,” some fans were quick to speculate foul intention.

Such fans noted that the trailer seemed otherwise very inclusive, highlighting even the special collaborative performances planned, to see TXT’s exclusion as a simple mistake.

Meanwhile, other fans believe MBC might have made an honest mistake—especially given how BOYNEXTDOOR is included, despite being HYBE-related. In 2023, it was reported that the two Korean entertainment titans had made up. Will this new little hiccup unveil unresolved beef?
