A famous Korean streamer by the name of Shin Tae Il recently spoke up after he was implicated in former NCT Taeil‘s recent sexual assault case.

On August 28, 2024, SM Entertainment released a statement that announced Taeil would no longer be a member of NCT. It was stated that he was under investigation for a sexual assault case.

Following the news, many who were not into K-Pop began to confuse Taeil with an internet streamer called Shin Tae Il. Shin is famous in South Korea, with over 260,000 followers on Instagram.

His original YouTube and Afreeca accounts have both been suspended over the years, leading to him being active on Instagram only. Shin Tae Il himself is known to have conducted himself in an unsavoury manner, getting involved in illegal gambling, bitcoin, and more.

Due to Shin’s controversial nature, many were confused about the identity of the person involved in the sexual assault case. On X, a tweet posted in confusion about the news went viral with over 990,000 views.
