Former member of the 90s K-Pop group Roo’Ra and convicted sex offender Go Young Wook took to his X (former Twitter) and revealed that his YouTube channel had been shut down.

In a tweet via his last open social media platform, Go questioned if it’s “fair” for YouTube to shun him for his “criminal history” when his content was not “harmful.”

It looks like my YouTube channel was shut down overnight. I did not upload harmful content, but it must be because I have a criminal history. Is YouTube even allowed to enforce a non-existent rule on just one person? I paid for my sins already… I don’t think it’s fair for it to be OK for some but not for others…

— Go Young Wook

Koreans remain unimpressed at the channel being shut down. Moreover, some criticized his self-serving complaint in which he mentioned his “sins” having been paid off.

  • “So shameless for a pedophile.”
  • “At least your X is still open. Have a drink.”
  • “You better be wearing shorts even in the winter.”
  • “LMAO. How dare you try to make a comeback? Think about what you did.”
  • “Two 14-year-olds and one 19-year-old.”

  • “You may have ‘paid’ for your sins, but that does not get rid of your sins. You don’t deserve to say things like that as a pedophile.”
  • “What is he yapping about?”
  • “You paid for your sins, huh? Do you really think the time you served was enough?”
  • “Which channels belong to your fellow criminals? Let us know so we can go shut those down, too.”
  • “You, yourself, is harmful content. No?”

  • “Mr. Go. You should move on and lead life as a law-abiding non-celeb. Don’t try appealing to the public again and don’t hope that you can come back in a few years.”
  • “You need to reflect for the rest of your life and live in repentance. Don’t mind the malicious comments, hang in there.”

Earlier this month, Go launched the channel in hopes of changing his otherwise “mundane routine.” His introduction of the channel with a tweet then sent Koreans on another reporting spree—as the public was successful in getting him off Instagram before.
