Despite MEOVV debuting just last year, THEBLACKLABEL is already debuting a new co-ed quintet called ALLDAY PROJECT. The members were revealed as Youngseo, Annie, Tarzzan, Bailey, and Woochan, which has generated a lot of interest, for better and worse.
On the plus side, people wondering what happened to Youngseo after she left ILLIT despite making the lineup after R U NEXT? will be pleased to see her here. On the negative side, member Tarzzan is already under fire for his braids in the teaser itself, in his daily life, and for seemingly supporting convicted felon Tory Lanez. Somewhere in the middle is Annie, whose name is Annie Moon and who is a fourth-generation chaebol. Her great-grandfather is the founder of the Samsung Group, while she’s a Shinsegae Group heiress through her grandmother and mother. That has led to the “discourse” on whether it’s a good thing or not and how K-pop fans are weirdos for hyping her status up.
Additionally, the company-made Wikipedia-esque entry for the group reads like some kind of techbro startup that’s trying to do some IPO fraud on investors or something, but a K-pop group.
ALLDAY PROJECT is a special collaboration of 5 unparalleled artists. Recognized in their respective fields, they’ve united to push the boundaries of creative expression, challenge conventional norms, and deliver something entirely new and unprecedented. Rather than following trends, they forge their own path – bold, distinct, and uncompromising. With sophisticated music, daring visuals, and powerful messages, ALLDAY PROJECT transcends labels and defies expectations – not just a fleeting moment, but a timeless force in artistry.
ChatGPT-ass description.
In addition to all that, the fact that their styling in the teaser picture reminds me of something BTS or BIGBANG (or Teddy himself in 1TYM) are now embarrassed to talk about is noteworthy, as they’re just running with this concept during the heat of backlash for K-pop overtly doing this kind of stuff, I guess.
Well … should be interesting. We already had KARD, sure, but this is a co-ed group that’s essentially from a major company and it’s already messy.
