TWICE Jeongyeon Opens Up About Retirement Plan: 'I'm Actually Preparing To...'

Jeongyeon suddenly shared her retirement plan on a variety show. Following the reveal, ONCEs reacted with surprise due to the idol's initiative and resolve to plan for her future.

On August 17, the newest episode of "Inspector" was released. The episode featured Olympic fencer Kim Jun Ho and TWICE's lead vocalist Jeongyeon. After the two celebrities got to know each other through a casual chat, Jeongyeon met the athlete's son, Eunwoo.

 

The episode showed the two having a tour of Kim Jun Ho's home. When reaching the playroom, Jeongyeon remarked that the room contained lots of toy cars. Kim Jun Ho replied that his son was really into heavy machinery nowadays.

This led Jeongyeon to confess her retirement plan, "I'm actually preparing to get a heavy machinery license myself."

"Really? Why?" Kim Jun Ho asked.

Jeongyeon replied, "I heard you can earn a lot of money after retirement."

Kim Jun Ho was taken aback, since TWICE is one of the best-selling groups in K-pop, and he wondered where Jeongyeon's retirement plan were coming from. "But aren't you already making a lot of money now?" he asked.

Jeongyeon gave a rational answer, saying that the future would always be unpredictable. "You might never know what might happen after retirement," the idol said before letting out a laugh.

In the YouTube video's comments and social media platform X (Twitter), fans were left amused by Jeongyeon's plan. Many expressed how random it was, while others praised the "ONE SPARK" singer for her foresight on her future and goals.
