[VIDEO] Tao Makes Public Marriage Proposal to Yiyang — Here's His Promise to Fiancée

Congratulations to Tao and Yiyang!

After about 3 years of dating, the couple is finally getting married, and their heart-fluttering proposal was aired nationwide.

On August 26, it was revealed that former EXO member Tao is getting married to his long-time girlfriend Xu Yiyang since being in a relationship in 2021. 

This happy news was shared belatedly through a public proposal the male idol made during the filming for his variety show, "Dare or Not," in which Yiyang was also a cast. 

In a majestic setting filled with pink flowers and petals, Tao shed tears in his white suit while he made a promise to his now-fiancée.

He emotionally said:

"From the time we first met until this moment, from the beginning of our journey, everything had already been decided... you are the one who will stay with me until the end. My whole life, this lifetime, every day, every moment, every night, I want that person to be you."

He finally said the crucial question, asking:

"So, this is my last challenge on the show, I dare to marry you, do you dare to accept?"

Yiyang, who looks like a goddess in her white dress seemed moved and choked up before answering, 

"I dare to."

The marriage proposal was filled with love in the air as their colleagues, friends, and even family members cheered on their engagement.

The marriage proposal happened just a month after the couple admitted that they were dating in public. Tao and Yiyang shared the news by releasing an official photoshoot of them holding hands and kissing on the beach at sunset. 

The news was well-received by the general public, but it was not necessarily as shocking to fans. Since 2020, Tao and Xu Yiyang have been embroiled in several dating rumors, but have been denied by them continuously. 

At the time, they were often seen together eating and traveling together, but it was glossed over as an ordinary senior-junior relationship. When Tao's variety show started then, the couple finally declared their relationship.

Regarding how they met each other, Tao originally debuted as EXO in Korea in 2012 before leaving the group in 2015 and began working in China. 

At the time, Xu Yiyang also began her career as a trainee at SM Entertainment in 2014 and became known as a member of SM Rookies in 2016. Ahead of aespa's debut in 2020, which was supposedly her debut group, she left the agency and started working in China as well.

The couple's relationship progressed after Yiyang became an artist under Tao's agency. The male icon also shared that he completely fell in love with the female star when she didn't leave his side in 2020 when he lost his father, one of the hardest times of his life.

Amidst this, speculations are being raised that Tao's public proposal may mean their marriage is imminent this year or next year.
