Weverse, HYBE’s groundbreaking superfan platform, has released its 2024 Fandom Trend Report, highlighting a year of unprecedented growth, global artist additions, and an evolving superfan economy.

With a transformative year, Weverse continues to cement itself as the ultimate bridge between artists and superfans worldwide.

In 2024, Weverse welcomed 53 new artist teams, 16 of which were global icons like Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, Megan Thee Stallion, and Conan Gray. This expansion fueled a 19% average user growth across continents, with North America, Europe, and Asia leading the surge. Now more than ever, Weverse is connecting superfans with their favorite artists in ways that transcend borders and redefine fandom.

Artists and Fans: Closer Than Ever

Through private messages, live videos, and interactive content, Weverse enabled artists and fans to engage on an unparalleled scale. Artists shared over 206,000 posts, while fans contributed 370 million posts, creating a dynamic interaction ecosystem. SEVENTEEN topped the charts for the most artist posts, while ENHYPEN led in fan comments.

Weverse DM (Direct Messages) saw a significant spike in activity, with artists sending 698,000 messages and fans responding with a staggering 96.36 million. Over half of the artists on the platform sent DMs at least every other day, further closing the gap between creators and their audiences.

Global fans also expressed their love with 4.88 million digitally decorated Fan Letters. BTS’s Jung Kook received the most Fan Letters, while LEEHAN of BOYNEXTDOOR earned the title of the most responsive artist, liking the highest number of Fan Letters.

Weverse Live: Superfans Go Global

Real-time engagement took center stage with Weverse Live, where 5,787 live broadcasts provided 4,779 hours of content to a cumulative 11.25 million viewers. Jung Kook of BTS captivated fans with the year’s most-watched livestream, “Missed You a Lot,” garnering 23 million views in December.

A Boom in Superfan Commerce

Weverse Shop reported a remarkable 13% increase in sales, moving 20.6 million merch items in 2024. While Korea remained a dominant market, the United States and Japan emerged as significant players. Physical merch like albums and collectibles saw a steady 10% growth, but digital merch led the charge with a 24% surge. Artist memberships, including ARMY Membership and CARAT Membership, dominated in regions like Oceania, Europe, and Latin America, showcasing fans’ unwavering support for their favorite idols.

A Vision for the Future

Joon Choi, President of Weverse Company, reflected on the platform’s evolution: “2024 was a transformative year for Weverse, as we expanded our artist communities, superfan engagement, and commerce activities on a global scale. We remain committed to innovating and meeting the evolving needs of artists and fans, solidifying our role as the center of global fandom culture.”

With its focus on innovation and fostering deeper connections, Weverse is shaping the future of fandom—where superfans are not just spectators but essential participants in a global community.
